University of Calicut Withholds Results for a Year

UAE-based students of an Indian university’s external study programme are waiting for their results, more than one year after their final exam. The University of Calicut, which provides correspondence courses to students in the UAE, has not released the June 2008 results of the final exams of their Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) course.

While the institutes provide the learning material and the faculty for the course, the university assigns a monitor to conduct the examination at each of the centres. “Malpractices were suspected at the evaluation camp and it was found that some papers from the UAE had similar answers. In such a situation we need to carry out a thorough enquiry and cannot announce the results,” said Rajagopalan, controller of examinations at University of Calicut in a telephonic conversation from India.
